A Family Trade, 30+ Years in the Making
JR Painting has been in business for more than 30 years, and it has always been a family company. Founder Jose Rojas built it from the ground up, and his three sons grew up around it. As kids, they spent summers going to work with him to earn a little extra cash. They started at the bottom, picking up trash and bringing tools wherever they were needed. Over time they learned the trade the way he did, by working all kinds of jobs and figuring out whatever each one threw at them. Today the three of them run the company alongside him. Omar Rojas is director of operations and handles accounting, and Alexis Rojas and Gustavo Rojas are project managers.
Three decades in this trade have taught us that a great finish starts long before the paint goes on the wall. From detailed preparation to the final coat, we focus on the small details that make a project look professionally finished. Our work covers a wide range. One week it’s a hand-troweled plaster wall in a custom home. The next it might be a full condo repaint, a remodel alongside other trades, or a set of rental units that need to be turned over on schedule. The approach stays the same: protect the space, prepare the surfaces properly, apply with care, and leave the site clean.
Being family-run means something specific here. When you call JR Painting, a Rojas answers the phone. One of us runs your project and comes out for the progress meetings, and often one of us is on site doing the work or helping with it. Homeowners, general contractors, interior designers, landlords, and property managers all come to us for the same reason: they need the work done right, and they need it done on time.

Meet Jose Rojas
Owner & Founder, JR Painting
Jose grew up in Huizache, a small village in Mexico, and started working as a kid because there was no other choice. His family needed the help, and he needed to support himself.
That early start taught him a habit he has carried into every job since: when a problem is in front of you, you think it through, and then you do the work. Careful planning backed by plain grit has defined more than thirty years in the painting trade.
He worked his way up one project at a time, and more than thirty years ago that experience became JR Painting. In that time he has watched colors and finishes come into fashion and fade back out. Having seen it all, he knows the difference between a passing trend and work that will hold up for years. Whether the job is a single room or a large project, he approaches it the way he learned as a kid. He studies the problem, plans the execution, and sees it through.
Outside of work, the same discipline shows up. He’s a family man who has always wanted the best for the people around him, and on weekends he runs half marathons. In that kind of race, what matters is holding a steady pace over a long distance, mile after mile.
That’s how the business was built too. It didn’t come fast or easy. It came from years of steady grinding, one mile at a time. He learned early that nothing would be handed to him.
JR Painting is what he built with that lesson, and it’s still being built the same way: carefully, steadily, one job at a time.
